San Ramon Waterfall Tour

We pick you up at your hotel or at the port and then travel one hour to the southwest side of the Maderas Volcano to a town called San Ramon, this is the only trail to climb to the waterfall. 

Once in San Ramon it is time to pay the entrance fee of 3 dollars per person, we will go up 2 kilometers in a vehicle, it is an adventure that you will enjoy in this day tour, it is very fun and exciting.

When we arrive at the parking lot 2 km into the volcano, it is time to start a hike that will take on average an hour and fifteen minutes to reach the waterfall, the trail is not steep all the time, but it has loose rocks and can be slippery, also in the final part just before reaching the waterfall is especially steep and we do not recommend it for small children or people who are afraid of heights. 

The distance of the trail is almost three kilometers and it is very interesting because it shows us characteristics of the volcano and its interaction with the water of the waterfall. 

The forest that we walk in this activity is an attraction, this volcano has a dry tropical forest in the lower parts and then a rainforest in the middle parts and finally a cloud forest at the top, on this day we will walk in a rainforest, the home of the capuchino monkey or Cara blanca, also here you will find nests of nuquiamarillas parrots.  

This forest will make you feel at times in a surreal situation and its imposing calm will relax you. 

 This activity lasts about five hours and is one of the best half day activities you can do in Ometepe, if we start at 8 am we will be in good time for lunch in one of the great attractions of Ometepe: Playa Mangos where they have a good restaurant and bar, plus some water games like kayak rentals, yacht ride, water donut, water banana and much more.
